(3931) Reaction turbine
A type of turbine where only a small part of the available energy is converted into kinetic energy at entry into the runner, a substantial part remaining as pressure energy that varies during the passage of the fluid through the runner. It, therefore, follows that the entire flow from headwater to tailwater is in an enclosed conduit.
